Bulk SMS
Bulk SMS pricing, sending and delivery
Common questions from organisations evaluating or already using AI Tech Messaging.
How much does Bulk SMS cost?
AI Tech Bulk SMS pricing is volume-based. Current public packages start from KSh 0.60 per SMS for smaller volumes and reduce progressively to as low as KSh 0.25 per SMS for very high-volume purchases. Some clients may also have a negotiated fixed rate based on their agreement.
View Bulk SMS information or request a quotation for your expected volume.
What are the current Bulk SMS volume packages?
The standard pricing structure is:
- PING: below 30,000 SMS — KSh 0.60 per SMS
- PULSE: 30,000–99,999 SMS — KSh 0.50 per SMS
- ECHO: 100,000–299,999 SMS — KSh 0.40 per SMS
- WAVE: 300,000–999,999 SMS — KSh 0.30 per SMS
- BLAST: 1,000,000+ SMS — KSh 0.25 per SMS
Where a signed client agreement provides a fixed rate, that agreed rate takes priority.
Can I schedule SMS messages for later?
Yes. AI Tech Messaging is designed to support scheduled campaigns so organisations can prepare communication in advance and send it at the appropriate time.
Can multiple staff members use the same organisation account?
Yes. AI Tech Messaging is structured around organisations rather than one shared personal login. Staff users can be assigned roles and permissions so activity remains attributable to the correct person and organisation.
Can I upload a list of phone numbers?
Yes. Recipient lists can be prepared for campaigns, but clients remain responsible for the legality, accuracy and appropriate use of the contact information they upload. Direct-marketing lists should also respect opt-out and suppression requirements.
Does AI Tech guarantee that every SMS will be delivered?
No provider can responsibly guarantee delivery to every handset. Delivery can be affected by recipient phone status, network conditions, invalid numbers, filtering and other telecommunications factors. AI Tech provides delivery reporting where supported so clients can review campaign outcomes.
Sender ID
Sender name applications and requirements
Sender ID is the identifiable name recipients see when receiving approved organisational messages.
What is a Sender ID?
A Sender ID is the approved name displayed as the sender of an SMS, for example a school, company, SACCO or recognised brand name. It helps recipients identify the organisation communicating with them.
What documents are normally required for Sender ID onboarding?
Requirements can vary, but the onboarding process may include the organisation's registration/incorporation document, business KRA PIN, authorisation letter, administrator identification and administrator KRA PIN. AI Tech may request additional supporting information where necessary.
Does submitting a Sender ID request mean it is automatically approved?
No. Submission is only the beginning of the approval process. Payment verification, documentation, review and telecommunications approval may still be required before the Sender ID can be treated as active.
Does an approved Sender ID automatically activate the whole messaging account?
No. Sender ID approval and messaging-account activation are separate controls. A client can complete onboarding and still remain at Ready for Provisioning until the operational prerequisites are verified.
Account onboarding
Applications, references and activation
The onboarding workflow is designed to make each stage visible and controlled.
What happens after I create a messaging account?
After account verification, the organisation receives access to a limited onboarding portal. The client then completes the required organisation profile, documents, Sender ID stage and activation review before operational messaging access is granted.
Will I receive an application reference?
Yes. Public applications receive a unique AI Tech Messaging reference in the format AIT-MSG-YYYY-XXXXXX. This helps identify and track the application.
Can I track my application online?
Yes. Authenticated clients can track their application reference, current onboarding level, status, action required, clarifications, history and notifications.
What does 100% onboarding mean?
100% means the onboarding stages have been completed and approved. It does not necessarily mean the account is operational. Messaging becomes fully available only after the account reaches Operational Active.
Why can an account remain at Ready for Provisioning?
This state means AI Tech has approved onboarding but the operational provider prerequisites are not yet complete. These may include provider account mapping, verified credentials, successful provider account sync and an active Sender ID.
Responsible messaging
Consent, opt-outs and customer responsibilities
Clients control who receives their messages and why those recipients are contacted.
Do I need consent before sending marketing SMS?
Organisations using personal data for direct marketing should ensure they have an appropriate lawful basis, provide relevant notices and follow applicable data-protection and sector requirements. The correct approach depends on the circumstances and should be assessed by the client.
How should opt-out requests be handled?
Recipients who request to stop receiving marketing communication should be recorded in the organisation's suppression process and excluded from future marketing campaigns. Re-importing the same number should not be used to bypass an opt-out.
Can AI Tech approve the legality of my recipient list or campaign?
No. AI Tech provides messaging controls and responsible-use guidance, but each client remains responsible for recipient-list legality, message content, consent, notices and sector-specific obligations.

Yes. AI Tech works on CRM, enquiries, admissions and applicant-management workflows, including staff assignment, applicant stages, tracking and reporting.
Do you provide institution management systems?
Yes. AI Tech's institution platform work includes areas such as CRM, HR, staff attendance, payroll, inventory, library, online learning, complaints/quality assurance and multi-branch administration.
Can your software support multiple branches or organisations?
Yes. Multi-branch and multi-tenant architecture can be used where organisations need controlled separation of branches, clients, staff roles and data.
Can AI Tech integrate an existing database or legacy system?
In many cases, yes. The existing data structure first needs to be inspected so migration, import and reconciliation can be planned safely rather than assuming old data will map directly into the new system.
